Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II: One of The Unsung Heroes of Ghana's Food Security

 


Renowned chief, Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II, has been one of the major  driving force behind Ghana's food security for the past decade. 


With vast lands hosting thousands of farmers, Ejura has become a major food basket for the country, producing thousands of tons of maize, yam, beans, and other staples annually.


Under Barimah Osei Hwedie II's visionary leadership, the traditional council has created a thriving environment for farmers. 


By reducing land acquisition costs, he's encouraged youth to venture into farming, boosting production.


The chief has also supported over  15 farming communities with mechanized boreholes, addressing water access issues.


 Collaborations with security services have protected farmlands from destructive cattle, giving farmers peace of mind.


As Barimah Osei Hwedie II marks 10 years, his contributions to Ghana's food security deserve recognition. His work impacts not just Ejura, but the nation.

PTA Leads Bedbugs Fumigation Exercise at KTI Dormitories

  The Parent Teachers Association (PTA) of Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI) has carried out a comprehensive bedbugs fumigation exercise in both the boys’ and girls’ dormitories to address a long-standing challenge affecting students. The exercise, undertaken to completely eradicate bedbugs, follows persistent complaints from students who have been disturbed by the insects during the night. The situation, according to school authorities, had begun to negatively affect students’ comfort, health, and academic performance.   The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has praised the Afia Kobi Ampem Girls' Senior High School for their innovation in the area of aerospace engineering.  The renowned King commended the school for their exploits in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education.
