ADANSI MOVEMENT CALLS ON EDWARD ANNIN TO CONTEST ASHANTI NPP REGIONAL CHAIRMANSHIP
A group identifying itself as Rescue Ashanti NPP with Adansi Movement has called on former Member of Parliament, Edward Annin, to contest for the Ashanti Regional Chairman position of the New Patriotic Party.
At a press conference held in Obuasi on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, the group expressed concern over what it described as a declining performance of the party in the Adansi area.
According to the Movement, the opposition’s victory in three parliamentary seats in the last election signals the need for strong leadership to reclaim lost grounds.
Speaking to the media, Deputy Secretary of the Movement, Samuel Kofi Kodua, described Hon. Annin as an experienced leader who understands both traditional authority and modern political systems. He noted that such qualities position him as the right candidate to unify the party and restore its strength in the region.
Mr. Kodua further indicated that Hon. Annin has the ability to reconnect and mobilize party faithful who have become inactive since the era of former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
The group is therefore urging the former legislator to heed their call and step forward to contest the position, emphasizing that his leadership could play a crucial role in rebuilding and strengthening the party’s base in the Ashanti Region.
