From darkness to light — Residents of Birem celebrate as Hon. Adelaide Ntim commissions electricity project.
The Member of Parliament for the Nsuta Kwamang Beposo Constituency, Hon.Adelaide Ntim, has successfully facilitated the connection of 23 communities within the constituency to the national electricity grid.
Out of the 23 beneficiary communities, three — Birem, Kyeiase and Banaana — have already been connected and switched onto the national grid, with residents currently enjoying electricity supply.
Speaking during a durbar organized to officially inaugurate the electricity project at Birem, Hon. Adelaide Ntim expressed excitement over the achievement, describing it as one of the major milestones of her tenure as Member of Parliament.
According to her, although the beneficiary communities are happy about the development, she is personally overwhelmed with joy knowing that the long-awaited electricity project has become a reality under her leadership.
The MP, who is seeking another term in office, appealed to the people to remember her during elections as a way of appreciating her efforts and commitment toward improving their living conditions through developmental projects.
She further urged constituents to exercise patience whenever they make requests for development projects, explaining that securing government interventions and lobbying for projects often take time.
Addressing concerns about the deplorable state of the Kyeiase-Birem road, Hon. Adelaide Ntim assured residents that steps are being taken to rehabilitate the stretch, adding that efforts are far advanced to ensure the road is fixed.
The Chief of Birem, Nana Okomansan Amoagyaame, who addressed the gathering, expressed profound gratitude to the MP for the electricity project. He noted that apart from God, Hon. Adelaide Ntim has become a savior to the people of the area due to the transformational impact of the project on their lives.
The chief further pledged the community’s continuous support for the MP and appealed to her to help provide a teachers’ bungalow and also facilitate the rehabilitation of roads in the area, describing them as the community’s most pressing challenges.
The beneficial residents also expressed their joy over the project and thanked the MP for making this project a priority and reality
